The Women of Whistler (WOW) planning committee is seeking candidates with established business, leadership and advocacy expertise, to join the Planning Committee for a two year term commencing July 1, 2018.
Criteria
Members of the Planning Committee represent and are accountable to female entrepreneurs and corporate employees who choose to avail themselves of WOW's service offerings and as such are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of WOW.
Applicants should have a strong understanding of the current business environment in Whistler and further afield, the ability to listen and present ideas and posssess some or all of these values: Authenticity, Integrity, Creativity, flexibility, Courage and Good Judgement. They must be able to commit the following time on an annual basis:

4- Role of Organizing Committee
As an operational committee of the Whistler Chamber and reporting to the CEO of the Whistler Chamber, the role of the Planning Committee is to provide the creative direction, strategic planning and budgeting required to fulfill the mission of the Women of Whistler.
Planning Committee members play a vital role in ensuring the successful and effectiveness of WOW's annual programming. A team of dedicated Committee members, who work collaboratively to further the goals of the organization, will ensure WOW grows and evolves while fulfilling its mission.
The following guidelines will allow Planning Committee members to maximize their contribution to Committee activities:
- Attend the WOW planning sessions, events and debrief sessions and inform the Committee Chair if you are unable to do so.
- Prepare for Committee meetings and come ready to discuss what is on the meeting agenda.
- Participate actively and constructively in the business of the Committee and make a positive contribution by providing visionary leadership and direction to the group.
- Exercise the care, diligence and skill of a responsible prudent person under comparable circumstances.
- Stay informed on matters relevant to WOW.
- Act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of the WOW organization as a whole.
Committee members, during their term, are asked to refrain from lobbying for special interest groups, and not to speak on behalf of WOW and the planning Committee without prior authorization.
